 While most patients are aware of the benefits of fluoride, few are aware of the advantages of calcium phosphate. MI paste has been around since 2004 and has been evaluated for its effectiveness in remineralization of tooth structure. The calcium in MI paste helps sustain the calcium ion levels within the saliva which helps remineralize tooth as well as areas of erosion.
- It is ideal for children and adults undergoing orthodontic treatment.
- For patients suffering from tooth sensitivity, MI paste has been shown to effectively block the dentinal tubules which cause sensitivity and does so, on a long term basis.
MI paste is not to be used as your regular tooth paste but only as a supplement that is rubbed on the tooth and not brushed on the teeth.
