One alternative for a missing tooth is the placement of a fixed bridge. This is a restoration that replaces or spans the space where one or more teeth have been lost. A fixed bridge is bonded or cemented into place. The teeth on either side of the missing tooth are prepared by the dentist followed by an impression.
